Web-based testing accomplished with Test Servlets© and WebTest©

BRONX, NY – June 27, 2002 Science Academy Software®, a developer of educational software, announced today the availability of TestServlets© and WebTest©.

Test Servlets are Java(TM) servlets for browser-based testing and assessment for K-12 Education and Occupational Training. WebTest is a text authoring tool for creating fill-In, true/false, and multiple-choice tests. Tests support user defined images and sound, lending itself to creating a unique multimedia experience.

These servlets present test questions individually or together, track students as they take tests (session tracking). Test Servlets measure and display results. Results can be saved, printed, or emailed for further review--a benefit for learners, teachers, testing and training organizations, distance and homeschool learners.

The test servlets are useful to people who need to do browser-based training and testing on the desktop, network, or web.

Test Servlets© run on a variety of Java Web servers supporting the Java(TM) Servlet Specification 2.2 or later. This servlet strategy provides numerous benefits that include security and scaleability.

Science Academy Software's servlet strategy complements existing and newer web-based instruction, overcomes most common technical barriers to platform independence (PC or Mac), and benefits from the growing customer support of ISPs offering Java web services.
