FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WebTest© testing and assessment educational software now supports multiple platforms.

BRONX, NY. May 26, 2003 Science Academy Software®, an educational software developer, has released a new and improved version of WebTest© , the test writing tool for Test Servlets©, Science Academy Software's browser-based testing and assessment methodology.

WebTest is now a "pure Java(TM)" application, which permits users to create tests on multiple plaforms, including Macs, Linux, Solaris and Windows.

WebTest creates and formats text for browser-based fill-in, true/false, and multiple-choice test questions. WebTest has a simple user interface for creating test files that are read by servlets. WebTest also generates the HTML for executing the servlets to support multiple tests.

WebTest works with Test Servlets -- the servlet software for browser-based testing and assessment for Education.

Test Servlets is used to present questions individually or collectively, track students as they take tests (session tracking), and support user-defined images and sound on IE4.0 or later. Test Servlets measure and display results. Results can be saved, printed, or emailed for further review--a benefit for learners, teachers, testing and training organizations, distance and homeschool learners. Test Servlets run on a variety of Java Web servers supporting the Java(TM) Servlet Specification 2.2 or later. The servlet strategy complements existing and newer web-based instruction and overcomes most common technical barriers to platform independence (PC or Mac). The servlet strategy provides numerous benefits including security and scaleability.

In an effort to widen its install base, Science Academy Software has updated WebTest© and it is available for free.
